Monuments

Santa Bárbara Castle

The castle of Santa Bárbara is the most representative monument of the city of Alicante and the one that accumulates the most visits. Is one of the largest medieval fortresses in Spain, whose origins are Arab, although hardly any original features from this period remain today.

Beaches

The province of Alicante has the best beaches in Spain, the most recommended beach for the clarity of its waters and the comfort of bathing is the beach of San Juan. The Postiguet beach is the closest beach to the centre, but as it is more crowded it loses quality compared to the San Juan beach.

If you have a vehicle to visit the whole province, one of the most beautiful beaches is El Portet de Moraira and the coves of Racó del Corb and Racó del Conill. Altea is on the way between these locations and is a beautiful and highly recommended town.
